i blame it on my family, really. my cousins and i have grown up with our name emblazoned on everything we own. well, almost everything. my mom used to dress my brother and me in kelly's kids clothing (have you heard of that?? we were always in matching rompers) and there is an option to get your child's name monogrammed on the clothing. we were never allowed to have our names monogrammed, though, because "if a stranger wants to steal you he would know your name". thanks to janet, i have never been kidnapped and i'm sure its for that reason. {thanks mom! i know you're reading this!}
aside from seasonally themed clothing from kelly's kids, my name and/or initials has been on everything. pencils, stickers, binders, pads of paper, cups, bottles of wine, napkins, ribbon....i'm leaving out about a million things, but i can't just sit here listing off everything with my name on it. it would take far too long.
it is actually an ongoing joke with my friends and family. its no surprise when i show up with something with a big LESLIE printed on it. while i joke about it, i actually really like it. i think personalization on the most simplest of things makes it a little more special.
so do you think i'm a little extreme with my monogramming? what are some things you have personalized?
my life planner that i am still obsessed with. (via)
bottles of wine & ribbon with my name and credentials at my graduation party
{l-r/t-b} my wallet, cups (also from my grad party), scrubs (thanks, aunt sherri!), and a keychain

I think monogramming is a southern thing (is Texas considered southern??) I went to school in South Carolina and EVERYTHING there is monogrammed!
ReplyDeletePerhaps it is a southern thing! Yes, we consider ourselves southern... Maybe monogramming is just goes along with our big hair and propensity to use the word "y'all"!
DeleteYes I received the mug... And yours should be arriving soon!
PS Did you get the mug I mailed you? I had it shipped directly to you and want to make sure it made it!
